Streeter’s Store late 1920’s. When Route 91 came through, Fall River was slightly relocated and the bridge elevation raised which required raising the grade of Rt. 10 in front of the store. This photo shows the old lower grade quite well.

The Bernardston Historical Society at Powers Institute will be open from 1:00PM to 4:00PM tomorrow, Sunday August 3rd. Pictured are two cottages that were located on lower West Mountain just above what is now Hillcrest Drive. The cottages were rented on a regular basis from about 1930 to the early 50’s. After that, they quickly fell into disrepair and sadly rotted away. There will be many photos of the cottages available to peruse on Sunday.
