You may have come across this news through other channels, but we wanted to let you know that our founder, Edie Mae Herrel, passed away on May 31, 2026.

Edie was and always will be The Bexley Historical Society, and we would not be here and what we are without her guidance, vision, dedication, and love of Bexley and its history.

Edie, you are our north star and your memory and legacy will live on with us and through your beautiful family for generations to come.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to them and to all who knew you.

Rest in peace, Edie. You are greatly missed.

Friends, we need your help! We have been trying to locate more information on two buildings for an upcoming project, and can't seem to find anything definitive.

Our wonderful friend, Leah Boyden at Bexley Public Library, found some information (thank you Leah!) included below, but we're looking for dates for two buildings - the gas station at 2516 East Main Street and the original Municipal Garage.
