Join us for a morning of music and play as we dive into the sounds of "Singin’ in the Rain." ☂🎵🎤

It’s going to be a sweet, hands-on session where toddlers can explore rhythm in a really magical way.

We’ll be using colorful umbrellas and plenty of bubbles to act out the song together, giving the kids a chance to dance and move along to the famous title track. It’s a great way for little ones to work on their coordination while having a blast in a "rainy" wonderland. We’d love to have you and your little ones there to help us make some bubbles and sing along!

We recently welcomed QUALITYstarsNY for their regional meeting at The Discovery Center.

It was an honor to host so many dedicated early childhood professionals and educators who are passionate about supporting high-quality learning experiences for children and families. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our space, connect with others in the field, and be part of such an inspiring and collaborative day.

🐝 Buzz on over to The Discovery Center for a morning of sweetness and stings!

This Monday, join us for a bee-themed story time that is sure to be the "bee's knees." We’ll be enlisting the help of some fuzzy puppet friends to explore the world of our favorite pollinators. Whether you’re a busy bee or a social butterfly, fly on by to learn how these tiny heroes keep our world blooming. It’s going to be un-bee-lievable fun!

Please note that we'll have 75 students visiting on a field trip, so the museum will be rather lively!

We are thrilled to announce that The Discovery Center has been awarded a $438 School Garden Grant from the Rural Health Network of South Central New York!

This funding will launch Discovery on the Go: See Marcus Grow, an interactive program blending literacy, social-emotional learning, and early STEM concepts. Reaching children both at our museum and in underserved neighborhoods through our outreach initiatives, the program uses the children's book See Marcus Grow as a foundation for hands-on discovery.

Thanks to this grant, hundreds of local children will participate in immersive read-alouds, plant their own seeds (tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro!), and enjoy fresh salsa-making demonstrations.

We love hosting the next generation of researchers at The Discovery Center!

Recently, Binghamton University students Myla Tannenbaum, Cameron Huchro, and Eliora Glickman visited our exhibits as part of their research course with Dr. Simpson. The trio conducted hands-on observations to better understand the "Power of Play" and just how crucial active engagement is to early childhood development. Thank you, Myla, Cameron, and Eliora, for sharing your energy and insights with us!
