Blackduck History and Art Center

Blackduck History and Art Center We are a history and art center located at the top of the Lady Slipper Scenic Byway in Northern Minnesota.

Our mission is to preserve materials, objects and data related to our diverse population; to remember the past, live in the present, and educate our youth for the future. To promote the arts in our community by putting a face on the artists of the area and providing art opportunities for our residents from ages 8 to 80.

Da de & Praught Livery Stable at Blackduck. In addition to their other livery work, they were paid for conveying a body to the cemetery and taking care of smallpox patients in 1906. Jasper Dade became the mayor of Blackduck. R. T. Praught represented the Blackduck Commercial Club at an important meeting in 1909.
