Blanco Pioneer Museum The Blanco Pioneer Museum opened in the Pat Ryan Building on February 27, 2010. Museum fees: adults $2, children 4-15 $1, under 4 free.

The building, located in the Blanco Historic District at 418 Pecan Street, was restored and has been donated for use as the museum.

Scrumptious holiday dessert! 🥧
Pecan Cheesecake Pie ~ Oh My!
1 unbaked pie crust
1 package cream cheese soften
1/4 cup sugar
4 eggs, divided
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans copped
1 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar packed
Beat cream cheese, sugar 1 egg and vanilla till smooth. Spread evenly in pie shell, sprinkle pecans over top cheese layer.
Beat remaining 3 eggs, corn syrup and brown sugar together well. Pour evenly over pecans. Bake at 425 for 10 min, then reduce heat to 375 and bake for 25-30 min or until set and golden. Cool, slice and Enjoy!

May 31, 2021 is the last day of Preservation month in the city of Blanco. The museum is proud to host the closing ceremony at 10 am on our front lawn or inside if rain. Everyone is welcome. The new book about our founding father James Hughes Callahan is available in limited copies and all books are signed by the author Tom McDonald. Cost is $45.00 and all profit over the cost will go to assisting some lucky people get a marker for their structure. Donations are welcome also. Museum entrance fee is waived an hour before the ceremony and an hour after the ceremony.

To all who love history and want to assist others in their search, here is a Question: What ever happened to the rifles given to the veterans of Deer Creek Battle? If you have information about the rifles please leave me a note so we can get it to the family member looking for them.

Yes It is me again. I haven't posted in a very long time but find I need the help of my friends. Several projects have started which need old pictures of Blanco. First the pictures for Butch Crofts: He needs pictures of people or children who have volunteered at the Blanco County Fair and Rodeo over the 80+ years of the event. If you took a picture of someone in your family during this event please contact MR. Butch Crofts but remember looking for volunteers who worked at the Fair and Rodeo only.
Second photos need: This is of the Lester Courts, Mobley Motel or now the Blanco County Inn(Same Place) and if you know who started the Lester Courts history please contact Linda Howard at 830-833-4971. We believe the Courts were built in 1932? Need your help Blanco.

Project three: The Blanco County Historical Commission is doing a pictorical book of Blanco County. We need all sort of pictures examples are parades, special events, structures, windmills, sporting events,schools, weddings, plays,conferences, water sports, rodeos, homecomings and etc. We will select the 220 which represent Blanco County doing what we do . We are just copying photos so you keep the original. Contact any member of the Historical Commission if you want to submit a photo.
