September 7, 1951
Beautiful most of day, clouded up in p.m. and showered a bit, grew much cooler. Fred went to Chester to work. At 1-15 p.m. Gretchen and Scott took me to Martha’s to play cards with her, Luna and Nellie. Gretchen made codfish and potato and cooked beets. After supper Fred called to Kinickis. He home at 9. Mae, 2 girls, Brenda and Ray here in eve. We canned 11 pts tomatoes in a.m.

September 6, 1951
Nice morning but clouded up by noon and rained by spells in p.m. Fred went to Chester to work. I made potato salad and at 9 a.m. Gretchen and Scott took me to Russell to Mrs. Woods to go with she and Mrs. Britton to League meeting. Gretchen and children came to Russell for me at 4-30. Gretchen made blueberry cake, meat gravy and cooked beets. Gretchen over to Huntington to see Vogel in eve. I put both children to bed. She home after 10.
