4 Elements Fine Art Gallery is a family-owned gallery by artist George & Lauren Charriez, creating an immersive art experience inspired by the 4 Elements of nature in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Meet George Charriez, who has gained international recognition for his highly detailed oil paintings and since 2002, his work has appeared in over 40 group exhibitions in the United States, the
UK, Switzerland, and Belgium. Upon completing High School, he attended The Savannah College of Art and Design until transferring to Pratt Institute and relocating to Brooklyn, New York. After schooling, George began working as an Industrial Designer at the design firm Innovations Development Incorporated, or IDI as it was then known. In 2000, George decided to relocate back to Georgia when in 2001 he began working with a Fine Art Publishing company. It was here over the next 18 years that George was able to hone in and fine-tune his painting styles and technique. Charriez's work is held in public as well as many private collections and has been seen in contemporary art fairs throughout the world. His inspiration stems from wanting to revitalize the art of storytelling through creating images that invoke a deeper awakening to where society has been, where it is now, and where a new growth potential awaits. George’s techniques include pyrography which translates to "writing with fire". This is the tradition of using heated metal tips or wire to burn or scorch designs onto natural materials such as wood or leather. In his images, George uses the open flame of a blowtorch on a wooden surface to create images. By utilizing a "blow" torch instead of the traditional heated tips, he feels a deeper creative connection to the natural elements of "Wind" "Earth", and "Fire".
