Turning Leaf Fine Art Gallery

It started in the fall of 2001 when Sherry Darling and Gary Gardner purchased a new Log Home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sherry was excited about decorating their home with some of the locally made artworks she had seen at the many fall festivals in the area. However, once the fall festivals were gone, so was the unique artworks. This was the spark for what became Turning Leaf Fine Art Gallery. In the fall of 2003, Sherry opened a small 180 square foot gallery two blocks off Main Street with the works of just 3 local artists. Within a few months, she realized that this gallery should be much larger and that it needed to be on Main Street. In the summer of 2004, the gallery moved to a larger space on Main Street while they awaited the renovation of their dream location. During the next 7 months, the gallery grew to represent a wider variety of mediums and many more artists. Turning Leaf still featured primarily local artists but added some well renowned national artists as well.

On April 15th2005 Turning Leaf Fine Art Gallery had a grand re-opening in a large 1750 square foot space. This beautifully renovated space was ideally located in the very heart of Historic Downtown Blue Ridge Georgia. It has since been enlarged to nearly 2000 square feet and has become one of the finest galleries in the region; representing more than 50 artists and virtually any medium an artist can represent themselves in. Turning Leaf Fine Art Gallery was nominated for the Niche Award and has been awarded the “Best of Blue Ridge” Art Gallery several times over the years. The gallery has attained an outstanding reputation nationwide among art collectors and artists alike.

After lovingly growing the gallery for more than 15 years and sensing it was time for them to retire; Sherry and Gary decided to sell Turning Leaf. Fortunately for art lovers, artists, and the region, long-time clients and supporters of the arts, Arlene and Dean Becken were also ready for a new chapter in their lives. As soon as they saw the notice that the gallery was for sale, they took advantage of the opportunity and purchased the Turning Leaf Fine Art Gallery.

As of July 1st, 2019 the gallery has been in the capable hands of these wonderful new owners and the excitement shows! Turning Leaf Fine Art Gallery still proudly represents exclusively American Artists and with renewed energy,the gallery is adding new artists and new mediums. There are many Artist Demonstrations already scheduled and new artists are being eagerly interviewed. The gallery will maintain its’ high standards of showcasing the very best of local, regional and national artists at incredibly affordable prices.
