Here’s a sneak peek at our upcoming exhibit commemorating historic Town Hall’s centennial! This fully functional 1935 Underwood manual typewriter is part of our collections. Typewriters like this one revolutionized administrative work and resemble what early municipal employees used in their day-to-day operations to keep Boca Raton running.

Mystery at the Museum… case closed! 😅

We can’t thank our young detectives enough for helping us solve the case of Frank Chesebro’s missing diary! Clues were hidden throughout the museum, and, lo and behold, the culprit was none other than Johnny Mizner, Addison Mizner’s favorite pet monkey! 🙈 Turns out, Johnny thought the diary belonged in the research library!

Our young detectives had a special opportunity to see the actual 1907 diary up close and discover why documentation is so important to preserving history. 📖 After solving the case, our detectives made their very own personalized diaries (and pumpkins).

A big thank-you to Balloons, Boards & Beyond — South Florida for the amazing balloon installation and spooky 👻 popsicles that helped make the evening extra special! 🧡🖤💜

We were delighted to welcome the newest members of the Junior League of Boca Raton to The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum. ❤️

The Junior League holds a special place in our history, having founded our organization in 1972. More than 50 years later, we’re proud to continue the work of preserving and sharing Boca Raton’s rich history with our community.

It was a pleasure to connect with the newest Junior League members and share the story of the organization they helped bring to life. We’re grateful for this enduring connection and look forward to all that we’ll continue to accomplish together!

Something sweet has arrived at our Museum Store! 🐝

We’re delighted to now carry HabBeeLity Honey from the HabCenter ~ locally harvested honey that makes a difference! 🍯

Each jar is carefully harvested by individuals with developmental differences and mental health challenges through the HabCenter’s beekeeping program, where participants develop valuable skills, build confidence, and gain meaningful hands-on experience.

Lovingly packaged in a Kosher facility, this honey is as meaningful as it is delicious!

Stop by the Museum Store and pick up a jar. A little sweetness can make a big impact! 💛

There’s a mystery to solve at The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum… Frank Chesebro’s diary has gone missing!

Bring the family and become museum detectives as you search for clues, explore the exhibits, meet playful suspects and historical characters, and work together to crack the case.

Along the way, discover how diaries, photographs, letters, and museum objects help us piece together, and preserve, Boca Raton’s history.

🎃 And before you go, decorate your own mini pumpkin to take home for the fall season!
