Wine Wednesday: A note from our winemakers, Aaron and CC on the art of blending a Double Gold winning wine.

Blending wine is just as much an art as it is a science and last week, the judges of the San Francisco International Wine Competition gave us their nod of approval by awarding our very own Cielos a Double Gold, which means it received unanimous Gold medal ratings from the judges and is considered one of the finest wines in the world - not shabby for a blend from Lincolnville!

Cielos was a last minute inspiration during blending trials in 2013, and almost never came to be! However, when Aaron decided to try "one more thing..." on the Spanish inspired fruity blend with complex layers of cocoa, vanilla, and spice, the flavors clicked, which is often the case when blending wines. For Cielos, which is the Spanish word for sky, the stars aligned in perfect formation.

Cielos is part of our Artist Series, and features the painting When I Dream by Allen Bunker on the label. Release TBD.
