The Menino Arts Center serves the neighborhood of Hyde Park, greater Boston and its suburban counterparts. With over 4,000 square feet of space, the MAC is home to a large classroom, seven affordable artist work studios, three galleries, a library and resource center, an auditorium and our organization’s home offices.

The Menino Arts Center / Hyde Park Art Association and The Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture proudly announce “On Second Thought”, A Juried Exhibition of Members of the Hyde Park Art Association is now up through November 20, 2026. The exhibition is viewable both in person at the Mayor’s Office Gallery on the 5th floor of Boston City Hall, and in a virtual 3D gallery that you can stroll through at https://www.hpaa-mac.org/exhibits/. There will be an in-person reception at the Mayor’s Office Gallery on Thursday, October 1, 5 – 7 pm. Gallery hours at Boston City Hall are regular business hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.

The juror for the exhibition was Mariana Rey, the Gallery and Exhibitions Manager at City Hall. It features the work of the 18 Hyde Park Art Association Members listed below, and it is curated by Mariana Rey for the Mayor's Gallery, and MAC Curator Sasja Lucas for the virtual gallery.

Our first 2nd Thursday Poetry Reading of the fall is September 10, 2026, 7 - 9 pm, featuring Wendy Drexler (pictured here), Connie Saems, and Tzynya Pinchback, with Open Mic before the featured speakers. Space is limited at the Open Mic, signup will start at 645 pm.

Wendy Drexler is a recipient of a 2022 artist fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Her fourth collection, Harvest of What Remains, received honorable mention for the Paul Nemser Prize and was published in February 2026 by Lily Poetry Review Books. She was awarded the 2025 E. E. Cummings prize from the New England Poetry Club, and served as poet in residence at New Mission High School in Hyde Park, MA, from 2018–2023. https://wendydrexlerpoetry.com/
