It was a biiiig week for the Broadmeadow project! Wednesday we officially kicked it off with an all school assembly introducing the project and taking about the year long plan. Can you spot me standing in the sea of 500+ students? No big deal.
Thursday we invited alumni to come back to Broadmeadow and make tiles from polymer clay for this project. Over 100 people came through. No big deal.
Friday we met with our first group to create parts of the mosaic. They made leaves, flowers, clouds and parts of the rainbow. 80ish 4th graders. No big deal.
Actually this is all A VERY BIG DEAL! The enthusiasm and support for this project is what makes community art so powerful.
Iām wicked lucky to be part of this project and part of this school. The parent volunteers today/yesterday/throughout have made everything run soooo smooth.
The biggest deal of all are my PTC co-chair QUEENS! Jenn and Bethany are a dream team and I am glad this project will take all year because Iām moderately obsessed with them and want to hang out and create together as long as possible.
Thank you Broadmeadow, Thank you PTC, thank you Mrs.
List for recommending me and thank you to all the supporters and art appreciators for participating! This mosaic is already so beautiful š„°
Next week weāll have 3rd graders šš
