Día de los Mu***os Community Installation
October 27 – November 1, 2026 @ BMoCA

For the fourth year, BMoCA is presenting a community-driven installation to celebrate Día de los Mu***os. Ofrendas will be displayed in the lobby and the upstairs event space at BMoCA from October 27 - November 1, created by community groups (BUENO Center at CU Boulder, Luna Cultura, PLAY Boulder Foundation and SPAN/Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence) and artist Anthony Maes, in partnership with the museum.

Celebrate this community installation on Sunday, November 1 with dance, music, traditional holiday refreshments, and fun for the whole family!

Drawing Club

No pressure, no registration, no risk, no kidding! Come and hang out with fellow creatives in Boulder, bring your sketch pads, drawing tools, and whatever. Paints are OK too. Some basic art tools will be supplied. You are welcome to bring art supplies to donate or share. Cool music, light snacks and great community.

Cost: Free, donations accepted

For all ages, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Light shapes so much of how we experience the world, affecting what we see and how we feel. Between Light and Shadow is a workshop inviting participants to explore that space where light and shadow meet within, a quiet practice of witnessing ourselves through mark, image, and contrast. This meditative experience will take place in the galleries and will include a guided cacao ritual.

Art for the Ocean: A Coral Collective

Inspired by the Crochet Coral Reef, and a global response of community-based coral-making, this local expression began with a circle of fiber artists at Frasier, a Boulder senior living community. From this initial group grew a broad intergenerational collaboration that brought together Frasier residents, students and teachers from Horizons K–8, Manhattan Middle School, Dawson School, West Age Well Center, and members of the wider community. Over nearly two years, participants have crocheted and knitted more than 500 coral forms, while also creating textile sea creatures and handcrafted paper kelp. Together, these individual acts of making form an immersive reef, bringing art, science, and community into a shared space.
