🇺🇸 Honoring Charles Balesi
➡️ Français à suivre

We would like to take a moment to recognize Charles Balesi, whose lifelong work has played a major role in shaping and elevating the visibility of French heritage throughout the Midwest. Charles devoted decades to researching, documenting, and sharing the story of the French presence in our region — not only as a historian, but as a friend, mentor, and tireless supporter of heritage organizations like ours.

In 2026, the very first Charles Balesi FHC Vision Award will be presented at the French Heritage Corridor Annual Conference in Minnesota. This award will honor individuals whose work continues Charles’ mission — keeping our shared history alive, visible, and meaningful for generations to come.

We are deeply grateful for everything Charles has done, and we are proud to continue carrying his vision forward.
