Aviation Heritage Park & Museum Stop by for an educational, inspiring, and interactive journey through aviation history. Hours: Open daily from dawn to dusk.

Exhibits include 8 military aircraft and a Piper Cub in honor of Kentucky pilots. The Airpark is open seven days a week, and the museum is open Mon-Sat, 10:00-5:00. A memorial to all distinguished aviators who have called South Central Kentucky home, Aviation Heritage Park currently features seven restored military aircraft and a Piper Cub with very compelling ties to local aviators as well as their own interesting stories.

“Wow! Thank you, Bowling Green! Hundreds of visitors joined us today for Touch of Home for the Troops as part of Duncan Hines Days. Families explored history, met reenactors, learned about the Donut Dollies, and helped us honor the men and women who served our nation. We were thrilled to welcome so many first-time visitors to the museum. Thank you to our volunteers, participants, Spirit Masters Elliot and Hope, community partners, and everyone who spent part of their day with us. Who were the Donut Dollies?

Tomorrow, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aviation Heritage Park & Museum invites you to discover the remarkable story of the American Red Cross "Donut Dollies" during our FREE event, A Touch of Home for the Troops.

During World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, these courageous young women volunteered to serve far from home, bringing a little comfort, laughter, and human connection to American service members. In Vietnam, they traveled by jeep and helicopter to remote firebases and combat outposts, carrying no weapons, only games, music, conversation, and a genuine concern for the troops they served.

Tomorrow you'll have the opportunity to meet Donut Dollies reenactors, learn their story, enjoy live music, military displays, food, and family-friendly activities throughout the museum and park.
