Reflections of Manatee

Reflections of Manatee Reflections of Manatee is a museum at the Curry Houses Historic District in Bradenton, Florida. All are welcome here.

We preserve history that happened here - freedom seekers of Angola, American settlers who arrived 1840s, Curry family in the Civil War, Cubans, and Seminole Reflections of Manatee’s mission is to inspire people to gain knowledge from the past to build a better future for our community. Our scope of collections covers the history of all peoples who occupied the land that is Manatee County Florida f

rom 1800-1930 with a focus on the Settlement of Angola, The Curry Family, and The Village of Manatee. We are the custodians of the artifacts from the Settlement of Angola that were excavated during the 2020 archeological dig of the Manatee Springs Mineral Park. We know that all peoples' stories are important to history and understand that people are complicated.
