We are pleased to welcome Gems of Southeastern Vermont jewelry by Howie Metzner of Brattleboro, Vermont.

"Each pair of earrings in this collection of Agate, Carnelian, Chrysoprase and Serpentine were found in a Southeastern Vermont River estuary from a single location along the Rock River.

As much as possible I try to keep a ‘live-edge’ in my finished pieces so as to showcase some of the raw beauty of the stone as it was when I found it.

All of these stones have been sourced locally, picked by me from the Rock River in South Newfane in Southern Vermont. They have been cut, polished and fashioned into these earrings all by my hand from my home lapidary studio here in Brattleboro Vermont." Howie Metzner

New prints of drawings from the extraordinary imagination of Linda Baker-Cimini available now.
"And here I am again lying in the narrow bed of Now. A cumbersome triumvirate comes lumbering along another tangent, unmoored, with all its clocks askew. Body travels blindly by land guided by sensation. One can only hope that it will learn to modulate its voice as well as a bat so as not to be deafened by its own echo. Meanwhile , Mind, suspended in a heavy fog of thought flies in circles looking for a hospitable rooftop on which to land. The questionable essence of soul is perplexed when asked to do math and feigns ambivalence as time wreaks havoc on its less fortunate colleagues. The Hydra bridles and bucks as love, hunger, fear and thirst take their turn in the saddle. Zinc and copper conduct electric riptides through the bloodstream following convolutions that are anything but linear. What to name this knot of wonder and confusion? Artist or simply human?"
L. Baker-Cimini

Charis Congail oil paintings exhibit opening Friday October 4 from 5 - 8 PM during Gallery Walk Downtown Brattleboro.
From a hilltop near West Pawlet, Vermont, Charis Congail uses traditional realist painting techniques to explore the questions we ask when we find ourselves in a quiet moment. Her paintings of human and still life subjects are informed by her background in comparative religion and mythology, and represent a never-ending journey exploring our complex relationship with the profoundly beautiful world in which we live.
Charis is a member of the Oil Painters of America and The Portrait Society of America. Her work can be viewed online at chariscongail.com and instagram@chariscongail.

Opening tonight during Gallery Walk! Deborah H. Carter is a multi-media artist from Lenox, MA who creates upcycled sustainable one-of-a-kind wearable art. Her couture pieces are constructed from post-consumer waste, discarded items and thrifted wares. She manipulates the color, shape, and texture of her materials to compel us to question our assumptions of beauty and worth and ultimately reconsider our habits and attitudes about waste and consumption.
A graduate of Parsons School of Design in NYC, Deborah worked as a women’s sportswear designer on Seventh Avenue.
Deborah’s art has been exhibited in galleries and art spaces around the US. She was one of 30 designers selected to showcase her work at the FS 2020 runway Fashion Show at The University of Saint Andrews, Scotland. She had a feature in the Spring 2023 What Women Create magazine and was a finalist in the World of WearableArt 2023 and 2024 Wellington, NZ.
