“It was so well curated with each experience excellent — from the nature walks to the visits with artists. The food was fantastic, and accommodations were just great. The most enjoyable part of the trip was the people: the Costa Rican people we met and who accompanied us, the artists, the guide and driver, and the lovely group of travelers. Ken and Eve made this a very special experience.” — Past 'ARTravel Costa Rica' Participant

“Fish Farm” is a vitreous China work by Jude Griebel that draws from 18th-century European dinnerware traditions, when plates and serving objects often celebrated the animals they carried. 🐟🍽️

Created during a residency at Kohler Co. in Wisconsin, Griebel’s sculptures update that history through representations of factory- and aquaculture-farmed species, linking the realities of industrial food systems to the very surfaces from which we consume them.

Griebel’s beautiful and unsettling works are on view in ELEGY FOR THE CONSUMED through July 5, 2026.

The arrival of spring has brought hundreds of rare birds from all around the world to BMAC. They are the handiwork of artist Robin Crofut-Brittingham–exquisitely detailed watercolor renderings created for her recent book, “The Illuminated Book of Birds” (Timber Press, 2025).

Curated by Sarah Freeman, ROBIN CROFUT-BRITTINGHAM: MIGRATIONS features two bodies of work–the aforementioned birds, as well as large-scale landscapes depicting imagined futures shaped by ecological change. Crofut-Brittingham’s bird paintings are rooted in close observation and detailed rendering, whereas her expansive landscapes reflect a rich imagination and storytelling ability. Together, they celebrate the beauty of the natural world while also considering its fragility in the face of human impact.

On Saturday, June 6, at 5:30 p.m., Crofut-Brittingham will give a talk about her work at the museum. Admission is free. Advance registration is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.

🔧🔌 What happens when everyday tools become monumental?

In Peter Dellert’s sculptures “Spanner” and “Plugged In,” ordinary objects are scaled up into looming reminders of our increasingly tangled relationship with technology. Familiar, useful, almost invisible in daily life, these forms take on a different weight when enlarged: part warning sign, part mirror.

PETER DELLERT: BIG CHOICES is on view on the museum’s lawn through October 30, 2026.
