Portfolio Gallery is pleased to announce Under the Paint, an exhibit of original works by gallery artist Nikki Nienhuis, opening March 9th. The show will include a variety of events like live painting demonstrations and artist discussions, as well as being featured during our signature Mixed Media event, along with wine and live music. As always, original work by our amazing crew of Portfolio Gallery artists will be available as well. Under the Paint continues through April 19th, 2020.

Through meditation and contemplation, Nikki Nienhuis brings paintings to life with written intentions, affirmations, and stories under the paint. For Nikki, the process of painting is a passage of time. She believes that looking at art is a connection, a link between two people. Witnessing each brush stroke at the very time it was placed- laid right there just as it was when the artist made it. Her paintings are a thousand individual moments in time all in one place. Think of it as time travel. Nikki was born and raised on the front range of Colorado. She paints the natural world using intuition as her guide. she’s interested in how emotions and colors respond to the energy of nature. Her paintings are combinations of what she sees, how she feels and what she wants to express as a truth that is different for each of us.
