I turned 45 today. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I can tell you despite some hurdles, I’m proud of the life I’ve built: the deaf pitbulls we’ve raised, the gallery that started as a cafe (now in its 8th? 9th? year), the overwhelming and overflowing gardens inspired by my mom, my beautiful and inspiring friends, the blessing of living on the most beautiful sandbar on earth, the everyday struggle of maintaining a 300 year old home, and perhaps the biggest accomplishment of getting Tim Robertson to tolerate all my immature bu****it and dick and fart humor.

I’m unlikely to survive another 45 years, but I’m grateful for every day after this one that includes any of the aforementioned gifts.

“Admin” day

SOLD! I’m a little bittersweet about this one. This mixed-media painting is the last of 4 of the very first series Dean Moran Dean Moran ever made for Tanuki. These were all big, special and pricey. We had this last one in the archives for a spell, until a very loyal and lovely client asked if I still had it. They had been thinking about it for years, and finally had the dough to take it back home to Lexington, where it will live with several other epic pieces from our gallery! Congrats Dean!

THIS SATURDAY! We are honored to represent the estate of legendary Japanese Cape Codder Yoko Kawashima Watkins. Her extensive collection of kimono, ceramics, lacquers and all manner of Japanese crafts and gifts is so big, we dont have space to store it all, so we’re having a sale!

Hundreds of affordable and unique items will be part of our courtyard sale, with her more precious items shown inside the gallery. Everything *inside* of the shop, with the exception of contemporary art, will also be on sale this week. So come on by (bring cash for the yard sale) for tasty refreshments and fun shopping. Take home a piece of history! (I’m not a morning person, so early birds pay double😜🫠)
