On Tuesday 6/9 at 7:30 PM, the Brick Historical Society welcomes Pat Jordan, who will portray Betsy Ross for an interactive program. The presentation starts at 7:30 PM at the Herbertsville firehouse, 601 Herbertsville Rd, Brick. Come around back for entry. Admission is free and all are welcome!

Hours are 10:00 to noon every Saturday thru October and by appointment.

On Tuesday, 1/13, 7:30 PM at the Herbertsville firehouse, the Brick Historical Society will be hosting speaker Professor Melissa Ziobro, who is the curator of the Bruce Springsteen Archives at Monmouth University. Professor Ziobro will be presenting “Born to run and the American Experience,” a dive into the historic context of the album, Born To Run. Admission is free! Come around the back for entry.

Our season is quickly coming to a close. If you haven’t toured the Haven’s Museum yet, you still have several weekends. We’re open every Sat thru October from 10:00 to 12:00, or by appointment. Admission is free. Come learn something about your local history!

At The Haven’s Museum, starting at noon, till 3:00 PM, there is an ICE CREAM SOCIAL. Bring a picnic lunch, listen to the very popular local Blue Grass band, the Last Whippoorwills and enjoy some Sundae’s ice cream!!

This weekend we’re hosting a Union Army infantry unit. 70 men from Brick volunteered in the Union Army. 23 of them served in the 14th NJ infantry. This young man is Henry Havens, 1st Srg of the 14th NJ. He died at age 20 at the Battle of Monocacy. He died “ Saving Washington DC.”
Come on out this weekend, 8/9 and 8/10 at the Havens Museum to explore the camp, experience the sights and sounds of weapons and drill demonstrations and learn more about the trials and tribulations of the Brick men like Henry during the Civil War. Admission is free. Burgers, dogs and baked goods will be available for purchase
