Hobo Days is fast approaching. the Larson Armstrong House will be open after the parade on Saturday until 4:00. Suggested donations are $10 to help maintain the house.

Also, don’t forget to attend our event “Music on the Porch” on Sund at 3:00. We hope to see you at both events.

Hello, everyone! It’s been awhile since some news has been posted about the Larson-Armstrong House in Britt.

First, we will be open for tours after the parade on Hobo Day until 4:00. On Hobo Day Sunday, we will be having Music on the Porch starting at 3:00 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy some music with us.

Speaking of the porch, it is going through a major renovation project right now. Check out the pictures to see what is going on to make the necessary repairs.

As with all projects, this requiring a sizable amount of money. if you feel so moved to make a contribution, send checks made out to Hancock County Historical Society, P. O. Box 134, Britt, IA 50423. Thanks for considering a donation to help cover the cost of the restoration and needed repairs.

Congratulations to HCHS and the other recipients of a Ley Foundation Grant.

The HCHS Board of Directors is pleased to be moving forward on the much needed improvements for all the Larson-Armstrong House porches -- site of future entertainments!
