From Brockton to Bilbao!

A work from Fuller Craft Museum’s Permanent Collection is currently on view across the Atlantic in Ruth Asawa: A Retrospective at Guggenheim Bilbao Museoa in Bilbao, Spain.

Created around 1960, Asawa’s Untitled Sculpture is made from tied galvanized metal wire, a technique central to the internationally celebrated artist’s practice. Asawa often drew inspiration from the natural world, transforming wire into intricate, dimensional forms that explore shape, space, and movement.

We’re proud to have this remarkable work from Fuller Craft Museum’s collection included in the retrospective, on view in Bilbao through September 13, 2026.

Meet your instructor, Ana Popescu!

A Romanian-American artist based in Providence, Ana approaches ceramics with a spirit of experimentation, combining traditional processes with digital fabrication and architectural influences. Her work has been exhibited internationally, from New York City and Providence to London and Bucharest.

On Thursday, October 1, Ana will bring that experimental approach to Fuller Craft Museum for Ceramic Printmaking, a hands-on workshop exploring the possibilities of transferring imagery onto clay. Through demonstrations and guided exercises, participants will work with underglaze, newsprint transfers, stencils, textures, and direct mark-making to build layered compositions of their own.

Ana earned her MFA in Ceramics from RISD and currently teaches ceramics at The Steel Yard while serving as a technical assistant in RISD’s Ceramics Department.

Thursday, October 1
1–4 PM
Limited to 8 participants

Come experiment with a new approach to clay and leave with techniques you can continue exploring in your own ceramic practice.

Created specifically for Fuller Craft Museum’s Atrium Gallery, Agency transforms the space into a monumental jewelry box, with oversized ceramic bows, snakes, swallows, arrows, and celestial forms that reimagine the visual language of Victorian jewelry.

Hear directly from Hatch about the ideas, imagery, and process behind this immersive new installation.

Meet your instructor, Deenie Pacik Giuliano, MFA!

Deenie brings years of experience working with stained and fused glass, both as an artist and educator. This fall, she’s inviting makers to explore the colorful possibilities of the medium in Glass Mezuzah Making, a beginner-friendly workshop at Fuller Craft Museum.

During this hands-on class, Deenie will guide you through the fundamentals of glass cutting, composition, and kiln-fusing as you design a one-of-a-kind decorative mezuzah using colorful sheet glass and glass frit. No previous glass experience is needed, and your finished piece will be kiln-fired after class and ready for pickup at a later date.

Whether you’re creating a mezuzah for your own home, making a thoughtful gift, or exploring Jewish artistic traditions through glass, you’ll leave with a handmade piece that reflects your own creativity.

Sunday, September 27
1 – 2:30 PM
Limited to 13 participants
