Lincoln County Historical and Genealogical Society

Lincoln County Historical and Genealogical Society The society preserves artifacts, historical sites, and the history of our town and county, The museum is still growing and accepting materials and artifacts.

The Lincoln County Historical and Genealogical Society held its first meeting in February 2008; and right from the start, its founders hoped to create a museum dedicated to area history. At the same time, a group of Jewish families was thinking about ways to preserve the structure and history of the B'nai Sholom Temple, built in 1896. The members of the temple, with the help of the Institute for S

outhern Jewish Life, decided to combine their interest in preservation with that of the historical society and March 2011, two collections, housed in one building, opened to the public. Entrance to the museum is free, but donations are welcome. Membership to the historical society is just $25 a year and all contributions are tax-deductible. If you have a suggestion for a special exhibit or if there is a subject you would like to learn more about, please let us know.
