Our Story

This gallery celebrates the singular beauty of the Maine coast and particularly that of the Blue Hill Peninsula and Penobscot Bay area.

Humble View Studio is primarily about the paintings of Kathryn (Kate, Kathy) Calhoun. In acrylics on canvas and wood, these works depict the images and scenes of the Blue Hill Peninsula and surrounding region.

Our gift line aims to shift focus from bloated, shallow consumerism to one of thoughtfulness and of conservation : of space, of materials, of energy and objects. This is a container ship-free zone that offers more one-of-a-kind than mass-produced multiples.
