Screen-Printing Class Guide
Objective
The objective of this course is to teach the fundamentals of manual silks screen-printing. Participants will learn how to capture images (whether it be through photography, illustration or design), process them graphically, “burn” a silk screen and create manual reproductions with acrylic paint. We will use the installations of the Dojo Studios to go through every step necessary to create posters, t-shirts, art multiples or collages using the classic technique of serigraphy.
By the end of the course, students will have gained a generalized knowledge of the silkscreen and its applications for either art or for business.
Below you can find a brief description of how the two-day course is broken down.
As participants explore and cultivate the learning outcomes listed above, they will ultimately put skills into action to produce a final art object that they can take home that the end of the day.
