Terry County Heritage Museum

At the end of March, we hosted our appreciation dinner for the businesses and individuals who donated to the museum. As a non-profit, we depend on donations maintain our buildings and exhibits, along with having regular open hours. This past year specifically, we were able to add a security system and repaint the exterior of our jail and train depot.

What did Christmas used to look like at the museum? Melba White fondly recalls a time when Jim Reed, fellow board member, used to ensure the museum was decorated in a very West Texas way.

If you are interested in old advertisements, headlines of the past, antique radios, and telephones... this special exhibit is for you! Our current special exhibit is all about communication: Music, print, radios, phones, and more.

We even set out a laminated vintage Terry County newspaper in the living room that you can flip through and see how things have changed.

We heard about Terry County Art Association’s art show coming up, so we decided to exhibit some art to go along with their show!

We are exhibiting paintings, quilts, and other handmade items around the historic building.

Come see them: Tuesday-Friday from 10 am -12 pm and 1 - 3 pm. Just call to make arrangements to come outside regular business hours 😊
