Inspired by an interview with Charlie Bonner Award-winning Art Educator George Beasley, the Truth in Art exhibition features a celebration of postgraduate art students across Georgia. The artists articulate the truth of their art with an eloquence beyond their years. They come from different universities, backgrounds, mediums, techniques, and points of view. Yet, together, their work creates a powerful statement on how we look at truth in art.

Today’s Featured Artist is Roxie Fricton, an Atlanta-based textile artist whose work explores the intersection of history, identity, and women’s lived experiences. Through handweaving, she connects past and present, reinterpreting tradition woven drafts by combining research and pattern manipulation to uncover hidden narratives and reframe their meanings.

Come see her work in person in the West Gallery at STMA, through November 21st.
