While we are your go-to for your moving image transfers and preservation, we always recommend Penobscot Marine Museum for all things still images. Here's a cool photo looking at Bucksport from Verona. If you magnify and look all the way to the left you will see our Alamo Theatre.

This black and white negative shows the town of Bucksport, viewed from just above the shore of Verona Island, across the Eastern Channel of the Penobscot River. In the foreground, a dirt road lined with trees leads downhill to the near shore.

Newly rediscovered 1972 footage of Bucksport, Maine, the town Northeast Historic Film has called home for over thirty years! This footage (probably shot by Chuc Halsted) comes from an episode of the Maine Public Broadcasting Network show, “The Maine Issue”, from a surviving U-matic videotape copy that was recently baked and digitized. Thousands of Maine Public tapes and films from the 1960s-2010s are currently held at NHF. Maine Public
