A great artist who left a distinctive mark in the city of Austin along with the most generous donation. I had the pleasure of meeting him in 1990 when I was the hostess of the ACC Student & Faculty Art Show. The strongest handshake I had ever had. Blessed as I was to represent the family collection in the early 2000’s when we hosted magnificent art shows and sales of his never before released works straight out of the family home and his studio. It has been a highlight of my art career. Happy heavenly birthday Mr. Umlauf!

It's Charles Umlauf's birthday! 🎂 He would have been 114 today! We are lucky to be able to celebrate his legacy through the Garden & Museum.
