The Buffalo Naval Park had the distinct honor of hosting a traveling delegation of Australian and New Zealand defense industry companies, veterans, and state government officials on April 25, 2026. The group visited Western New York in coordination with Moog Inc. and while in Buffalo commemorated ANZAC Day, one of Australia and New Zealand’s most significant national occasions.
Much like Memorial Day in the United States, ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War at Gallipoli. It remains a sacred day of reflection dedicated to honoring all service members who have served and sacrificed.
Because the Naval Park serves as a living memorial and a trusted civic anchor, it provided a natural space for this cross-continental tribute. Gathering in the early morning hours before the museum opened to the public, the delegation held a solemn commemorative service and laid a memorial wreath within the Park’s Monuments Garden.
This limited-edition Valour Bear was generously gifted to the Naval Park by the visiting ANZAC delegation as a token of gratitude and international friendship. Produced as a highly regarded military collectible in Australia, Valour Bears are designed to honor the heritage, uniform, and distinct spirit of those who have served in the Australian Defence Force.
The bear stands on display as a symbol of the enduring bond between the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, and as a reminder that the duty of historical stewardship and remembrance knows no geographic borders.
