Hey gang! I know it's been a while since I posted anything, and I apologize for that. I wanted to bring you up to date on my plans for the upcoming Halloween season. There are a lot of slow restorations taking place at the Village this year; as money becomes available, materials are getting purchased and much-needed repairs are being made. With all that going on, it becomes difficult to navigate around there at night, and the last thing I want is to see someone get hurt. The calendar is also something to consider. Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year which is just far enough away from a weekend that it takes a lot of the fun out of the date. I can remember as a kid, hating when Halloween fell on a mid-week day, and I still greatly dislike it. Couple that with other Halloween festivities going on the weekend prior, and all that adds up to what I can only see to be a less than favorable turnout for pretty much everyone this year.
So, I've decided to take off this season. Halloween is my favorite time of the year. I've been doing these tours for six consistent years, and I'm often so busy with them that I miss many of the enjoyable things about this holiday. Don't get me wrong, I love working with ghosts, and getting to introduce people to this incredible actively haunted location has been one of the highlights of my life, but I miss carving Jack-O-Lanterns, going to costume parties, and doing the Monster Mash. I figure with the current flowing so strong against me this year, it's a great time to take a break.
Now I will remain available for private tours, so if you want to come out for an evening, or a whole night, I will gladly accommodate you, but I'll not be making a schedule or setting plans myself this year. So, if I don't talk to you before then, I hope you have a safe, spooky, and amazing Halloween this year! 👻🎃
