Mountain Village 1890 Haunted History Tour

Mountain Village 1890 Haunted History Tour A real ghost town haunted by real ghosts Mountain Village 1890 is a living snapshot of the post-Civil War, Reconstruction era of the Ozarks.

Mountain Village 1890 is a collection of houses, commercial buildings, and community structures, all built and occupied during the second half of the 1800s. Each structure is furnished, adorned, and maintained, just as they would have been when they were in use 120 - 150 years ago. Beneath the village lies a cave that has been in use by humans for over three thousand years. Evidence of prehistoric

Cliff Dwelling Native Americans, Spanish and French explorers, modern Native American tribes, Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War, hunters, trappers, outlaws, moonshiners, smugglers, and early pioneer settlers, have been discovered in and around the area. As if that wasn't amazing enough in and of itself, the place is also actively haunted by some of those who once lived, worked, fought, and died here. For years, employees and visitors to Mountain Village 1890 have reported a myriad of strange activities; from disembodied voices, to solid apparitions. Mountain Village 1890, in conjunction with William Fleming, of ‘Ghost of a Chance: Paranormal Research & Investigations’, is now offering everyone the opportunity to tour a real haunted ghost town and get a taste of living history while experiencing what it’s like to be a ghost hunter with an experienced paranormal investigator. There are no costumes, no props, and no special effects. This is a real ghost town haunted by real ghosts. This is a limited engagement event. Check our timeline for current schedule. Tours begin at nightfall. Approximate start times will be announced on the main page a couple days prior to the date. We will also be announcing special events where you can come spend the night at the Village. Check with us frequently for details. Admission is $12 at the door. Children 12 and under are half price. Bring your cameras, and audio recording devices! Located at: 1011 C.S. Woods Boulevard

Hey gang! I know it's been a while since I posted anything, and I apologize for that. I wanted to bring you up to date on my plans for the upcoming Halloween season. There are a lot of slow restorations taking place at the Village this year; as money becomes available, materials are getting purchased and much-needed repairs are being made. With all that going on, it becomes difficult to navigate around there at night, and the last thing I want is to see someone get hurt. The calendar is also something to consider. Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year which is just far enough away from a weekend that it takes a lot of the fun out of the date. I can remember as a kid, hating when Halloween fell on a mid-week day, and I still greatly dislike it. Couple that with other Halloween festivities going on the weekend prior, and all that adds up to what I can only see to be a less than favorable turnout for pretty much everyone this year.

So, I've decided to take off this season. Halloween is my favorite time of the year. I've been doing these tours for six consistent years, and I'm often so busy with them that I miss many of the enjoyable things about this holiday. Don't get me wrong, I love working with ghosts, and getting to introduce people to this incredible actively haunted location has been one of the highlights of my life, but I miss carving Jack-O-Lanterns, going to costume parties, and doing the Monster Mash. I figure with the current flowing so strong against me this year, it's a great time to take a break.

Now I will remain available for private tours, so if you want to come out for an evening, or a whole night, I will gladly accommodate you, but I'll not be making a schedule or setting plans myself this year. So, if I don't talk to you before then, I hope you have a safe, spooky, and amazing Halloween this year! 👻🎃

So I'm talking to one of the cave guides today and he tells me that while giving a tour last week, he, and a few other members of his group, witnessed a free-floating apparition in the cave. Also today, I observed several anomalies around the Village, in the form of footsteps, voices, and some phantom smells.

I'm taking reservations right now for private tours, and if you're feeling adventurous, All-Nighters where we'll be spending some time in the cave. This is a fantastic way to spend your Summer vacation because there is no other haunted attraction like this on the planet.

Just send me a private message to make your reservations today!

Hey gang, Happy 2017! My sincere wish for you is a year filled with big changes, tons of fortune, and prosperity for all.

Since the end of last season I've struggled with several things, among them being what to do about the 2017 scheduling season and the direction to go with the Mountain Village 1890 Haunted History Tour. Attendance was down last season, which could be blamed on several factors, not the least of which being an unsteady economic climate and tumultuous political campaigns, due to a rather combative election year. Still, those mortal toils are of no concern to ghosts, and I happened to have had a fantastic year when it came to observing, documenting, and even capturing paranormal activity around the Village.

Activity not withstanding, I thought the best way to handle scheduling this year, is to turn it over to you, for the most part. Rather than me plan monthly activities and hoping it doesn't conflict with other local events, I'm going to continue with the theme of letting you schedule private tours with me. Private tours tend to last a lot longer and are a lot more enjoyable for all involved anyway. I'm available most any night, though a day or two of advanced notice is appreciated. All-Nighters are best when planned a week in advance, which gives me time to build a campfire and obtain refreshments.

That will pretty much cover the year beginning from now until the first half of October. I think when it comes to that final week leading into Halloween, It may be best to set a schedule and be a bit more organized about it, but we'll focus more on that toward the end of Summer. So if you'd like to come tour the most actively haunted ghost town in America, just send me a private message and we'll get it set up for you. Since our Winter has turned out rather mild thus far, I wouldn't object to running tours even now.

Finally, I am extremely proud to announce that my first book, which is a comprehensive instructional guide to paranormal research and investigation, has been submitted to a publisher and is awaiting approval for publication. This book represents everything I have learned about paranormal research and investigation since I started out in this field as a small child, and has taken me fifteen years to write. Even the most inexperience person who wishes to get into this field will be able to use this easy-to-follow book, and do all the crazy things I do on a near nightly basis. Once the book becomes available, of course I'll be announcing its release, and you'll likely be able to find it in our gift shop, but I'll also be announcing a new and exciting, first of its kind feature to the Haunted History Tour. It's a project I've been planning for two years, and the publication of my book is the key to bringing it to life.

You can certainly help me in hastening the advancement of this process by reaching out to 'Llewellyn Worldwide' (they have a page by the same name) and dropping them a quick private message letting them know that you're excited to see the publication of William Fleming's ghost hunting book, "So you Want to Be a Ghost Hunter". I figure if they see there is a demand for a book that's not yet on the shelves, they may push it up the list and fast-track it into publication. Doing this will cost you nothing but a couple minutes, and will go a long way toward getting the Village recognized as one of the most incredible haunted attractions in the nation, if not the world. It would also mean the world to me.

So in summary, if you'd like to come experience the Mountain Village 1890 Haunted History Tour anytime this year, you needn't wait for me to set a date. Drop me a message and let me know when and how I can serve you.

Time is running out to make reservations for the super rare, super, super moon Haunted History Tours at Mountain Village 1890. I was out for a little bit last night and there was a ton of sporadic activity at the Village, and I can only surmise that it was powered by this super close full moon event. Want to come experience it for yourself? Reserve a private tour for you and your friends!

Private tours require a group of six or more people. The tour itself lasts much longer than a regular season tour, and ends with a Q&A session where you can get all your paranormal-related questions answered, and possibly prompt a few stories out of me that I usually don't get to share during regular tours. Best of all, at $15 it's cheaper than any other haunted attractions anywhere else in the nation. It's an amazingly fun time, at an extremely haunted location, during a super rare lunar event. This won't happen again for another eighteen years, and who knows where we'll be by then.

Did you know that there is a very rare event coming up; one that could influence several things, including paranormal activity? It's called a super, super moon. It's when the moon is closest to the Earth in full illumination, and it hasn't happened in 65 years. The full phase of the moon does seem to have an effect on everything from ocean tides, to animal behavior, to our mood, and even the frequency and intensity of paranormal activity. I can only imagine that a super, super moon will amplify that to an even greater extent. Schedule a private tour for Monday night and lets find out.

The private tour is an extended version of the regular season tours and is just $15 per person, for a group of six or more people. As a bonus, Aunt Grace's Stay 'N Play resort is offering a huge $30 discount on their regular rooms when you book a night and mention you're here for the Haunted History Tour Super, Super Moon event. It's a fantastic getaway for anyone who is looking to experience paranormal activity in the most actively haunted ghost town in the nation and then looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay afterward.

I've done tours and investigations during full moons, blue moons, and super moons, and it always seems like the stage of the moon does have an effect on the frequency and intensity of paranormal activity. This coming Monday, November 14th the full moon will be the closest it's been to Earth in 65 years, and I'm curious to know what effect it will have on the activity in our little haunted Village. Want to come join me that night? Schedule an extended private tour* and we'll investigate this extremely rare occurrence together.

*Private tours must be scheduled a day in advance. $15 per person, minimum six per group.

Tired of politics? The race may be over, but no one is even close to being over it. Let's take a break from politics and spend an evening talking about the paranormal. Schedule a private tour or All-Nighter, and I can guarantee you I will not bring up anything having to do with candidates, races, or current events whatsoever. I'm a historian and paranormal investigator, and that's where my interests lay. So come join me for a politics-free evening while we explore the most actively haunted ghost town in the nation, where our ghost don't know or care about the current political climate.
