ABOUT THE ART
Bill primarily paints with acrylics on canvas but is also adept at digital media where many of his creations are transformed into limited edition prints on paper. Bill coined the term motion art to describe his emphasis on depicting fast moving subjects, whether Formula One cars, racehorses or downhill skiers. His motion art seems to almost leap off the canvas trailing streams of vibrant colours. His auto sports subjects range from Formula One, IndyCar and NASCAR, to MotoGP and IMSA. Other subjects include motorcycles, vintage cars, skiing, sailing, flying, cycling, tennis, football, hockey, soccer, wrestling, boxing, soccer, baseball, equestrian riding, western themes, and dancing. Patterson originals have been primarily sold in the US, but his art can also be found in Canada, Italy, Spain, Germany, England, Venezuela, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico and South Africa.
