🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day from the Museum of Butler, TN!

We are so happy to share that our American Veteran Memorial Garden has been renovated — a meaningful place to honor, remember, and reflect on the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

This project was made possible through the TN250 Capitol Improvement Grant, and we are grateful for the support of Tennessee America 250 as communities across our state prepare to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

Come see the renovated garden and experience the story of the Town that Wouldn’t Drown!

🇺🇸 STEP BACK IN TIME IN 2026! 🇺🇸

The Museum of Butler is proud to officially announce our 2026 Living History Saturday programs — a special series of immersive events bringing the stories of the “Town That Wouldn’t Drown” to life through living history, demonstrations, music, storytelling, heritage skills, and interactive experiences for all ages.

Throughout the season, visitors will experience Appalachian history in a whole new way as interpreters, historians, musicians, and reenactors help share the stories of the people, places, and traditions that shaped Butler and the Watauga Valley.

Featured programs will include:
✨ World War II Living History
✨ Appalachian Heritage Demonstrations
✨ Author Talks & Storytelling
✨ Historic Interpretations
✨ Family-Friendly Educational Activities
✨ Special America 250 Programs
