Passport 2 History

Passport 2 History Passport 2 History is a travel program of 83 cultural-historic sites. Collect all 83 stamps and return your booklet to the Leonis Adobe Museum for a prize!

Passport 2 History unites together many historical and cultural venues in Central and Southern California, introducing visitors to the wealth of historical places, artifacts and stories. It also encourages patrons to explore and build on the connection between each location. Throughout their journey, passport holders may be entitled to special benefits and gifts at each location and gain the great

est prize of all – a deeper love and understanding of our past and the rich history of California. Passport books are available for purchase at most participating museums. Contact the Leonis Adobe Museum for more information.

The April 2020 newsletter is here! We're sure everyone is feeling cooped up, and we know our P2H fans will miss the awesome slate of events our friends at museums across the state put on each month. We support our partner historic sites, cultural centers, and museums in exercising all due caution in protecting their visitors, volunteers, and staff from exposure to COVID-19.

Simi Valley Historical Society & Museum at Strathearn Park are holding Civil War Days this weekend! Get your tickets in advance online for $5. Details available in the post below.

Civil War Days update!
Simi Valley Historical Society is pleased to announce that the Civil War Days event will be open this weekend, March 7 & 8, 2020! A slight chance of rain (10-20%) during daytime hours cannot put a damper on this exciting annual event.

Tickets are still available online for only $5!
There will be something for just about everyone:
*Historical presenters - President Lincoln, General Grant,General Lee, Harriet Tubman and others
*Historical music by three bands - Mountain Fife and Drum, Occasional Strings and Camp Carlton Military Band
*Corsets and Crinolines presentation (Saturday only) - see what's really under Victorian Era dresses
*Military encampments and artillery demonstrations
*Civilian town with displays and demonstrations
*Recruitment Tent for young folks - get a Kepi, Kerchief and musket, then train with Civil War re-enactors. ($10 fee)
*Food from Ventura BBQ and Fresh fruit and smoothie food truck
*Vendors and Simi Store with treasures and curiosities for all
and so much more!

SPECIAL NOTE: Artillery demonstrations can be loud. Ear plugs will be available for purchase in Simi Store. We recommend leaving pets at home for the event. Service animals on leash are always welcome.
