Thank you to Noble County Master Hardeners for making the Ball Caldwell Homestead beautiful. Stop and enjoy the flowers everyone. Pictures allowed.

The roses from the Courthouse last summer survived the transplant with blooms all summer. They have ALL survived the winter and started to bloom.

There's a courthouse square in southeastern Ohio that most people have never heard of, and that's exactly what makes it worth knowing. 🏛️

Caldwell, the seat of Noble County, sits quietly in the Appalachian foothills — a small town with a Victorian courthouse, tree-lined streets, and the kind of unhurried pace that feels like a deep breath. Noble County was part of Ohio's 1880s oil boom, and Caldwell carries that history in its bones, from its brick storefronts to the courthouse that has anchored this community for generations.

Ohio has 88 counties, and every single one of them has a county seat worth knowing. Caldwell is one of the ones that rewards the curious traveler who takes the two-lane road less traveled. 🌿 Have you ever passed through Noble County? Drop a comment and tell us what you remember.

If you saw the Spectrum News report yesterday, then you heard right — the America-250 Ohio Revolutionary War Veteran Graves Project app will remain live for continued data collection!

https://spectrumnews1.com/oh/columbus/news/2026/05/25/revolutionary-war-veterans--graves-ohio

After a year of incredible work, more than 500 volunteers documented 4,344 Revolutionary War veteran and patriot gravesites across 1,487 cemeteries in Ohio.

The final results from this year-long effort will go live by July 4, 2026 — but the work doesn’t stop there. One of the greatest strengths of this project is that it’s a living document, meaning information can continue to be added, corrected, and refined over time.

So keep getting out there and helping us work toward documenting all 7,000+ Revolutionary War veterans and patriots buried in Ohio! Any new information submitted will continue to be incorporated into the final dashboard after the initial July 4 release.

Want to help? Learn how to volunteer, access the collection portal, and explore the live dashboard here: https://www.ohiohistory.org/preserving-ohio/history-preservation-where-you-live/revwarvet-graves/

What a delightful day of sharing the museum with our local third grade classes! They learned about many of our artifacts, explored the USS Shenandoah room, visited an old-time general store, investigated the confines of the historic jail, and postmarked mail that was delivered for them at our small old post office. It was a beautiful day for their field trip and we really enjoyed seeing them!

If you lost an envelope in the vicinity of the Jail Museum, please stop in to identify it and pick it up. It was brought in by a passerby.
