Camano City Schoolhouse & Fire Hall

Camano City Schoolhouse & Fire Hall Location: 993 Orchid Rd, Camano Island, WA 98282 Camano Island's rich history deserves recognition and celebration.

A part of Camano City Schoolhouse and Fire Hall Mission is to exhibit that history for all to enjoy in our iconic one-room schoolhouse setting and fire hall. The Schoolhouse is now a Washington Heritage Register Historic Site, listed along with nine other Camano Island historic sites. In December of 2018, the Schoolhouse Foundation purchased the Fire Hall and is enjoying creating a whole new way

for the Camano City Community to grow. A museum is being created on-site, full of Camano and Stanwood Fire Department history, including a 1935 fire engine. We invite you to be a part of our dream to provide a diverse range of "family-friendly" programs of Education, Exploration, Entertainment and Community Celebrations that highlight Camano Island History.

Our nonprofit is responsible for maintaining two of Camano’s oldest and most meaningful buildings—the 1906 one-room Schoolhouse and the island’s first Fire Hall. Both buildings now need new hot water tanks, and we’re fundraising to make these critical repairs. With your help, we can preserve these historic buildings and ensure they remain warm, functional spaces for all who visit.
