All four of the Downtown Camas Galleries are welcoming, inviting places with no pressure for purchase, just a love of sharing beautiful pieces of work! Stop into all of our Galleries to experience spectacular local art without the drive! First Fridays Art Gallery Receptions are a perfect time to visit when they are all open late (until 8pm) but they are open to the public during all of their business hours! You will be amazed at our local talent.

Local Girl Scout Troop 10292 came & conquered clay. Each made an animal, another free-form piece, they learned to make clay roses AND all added sprigs to a special unique Troop bowl I had made as a demo.

Father’s Day is coming up. So is graduation season. You know of a rock climber who would absolutely LOVE to have a hand-crafted custom climber’s bouldering grip mug to house their favorite beverage. They are so cool. And only 3 more are left!
Update. There were 3. Now there are none. What a little publicity will do, huh? I’m sure he’ll be making a few more.

We did a thing. We kinda bought a used/new raku kiln. Huge mahalos to Amy @ Lake Oswego High School and John Alland for making the connection. We can’t wait to fire this baby up! Every 3rd Mon 300-700p

The third Monday of the month means Raku. It was a perfect day to fire. Good people, lots of laughter and some really beautiful outcomes. The box is my fav.

I love painting with Heidi Curley Art . We kind of have an idea and we flow with that. We knew we wanted to honor the mill this year. This piece was for the Camas Booster event held at Black Pearl on the Columbia Event Center Saturday. All together we spent about 3-4 hours pulling this piece together. Talked with a lot of very nice folks who signed the canvas. It was auctioned off at the end of the event and raised $1300.00 for Camas High. Thanks to Mark, our personal photographer, for all the great shots and keeping us fed.

This set of lidded jars were brought in last month for repair. Actually more like a “recreation”, as the lid of the large jar was gone. Kahn sat down, eyeballed it and threw a perfectly fitted lid AND then, recreated all of the detail and carvings. Perfectly. He’s gonna do an acrylic color match and it should be done this weekend. We are so totally impressed and so very proud of all of his crafting capabilities.

Spent most of today throwing and managing the drying of these minis. Needed to keep the really small ones from drying out too fast. Kept flipping and wrapping them when done. Should have thrown them last! Trimming will be fun tmrw. Maybe time for a new studio speed video!
