We have been on vacation. Thanks for your patience. Wonderful time away and time to get back to work. And what a great way to get back to work, than to meet up with Will and hand over Kahn’s 25 amazing stoneware mugs. He was so very pleased and will be sending pics from his upcoming event. Yup. Kahn has done it once again. The brief video shows an actual Imperial Pint from England that was brought to us to mass replicate for his new brewpub opening. Kahn took this challenge on and through several trial & errors in making and glazing, he absolutely nailed it. I can’t wait for this guy to see his new lineup of classic pub pint vessels.

I took just a few pics before the event started and then they opened the doors. It was a nonstop stream of people and pottery demos and amazing music, two bars and fun reunions, reconnections, NEW connections and just a darn good time had by all was a rocking success. There were also like 800 bowls up for grabs. I’ll post more shots of the event later. Huge thanks to Jamie St. Clair and her entire team! THEY are the ones who make all of the magic happen each year. They get better each year. And so did we. It looks to be a record-setting donation check!

If it’s the 3rd Mon of the month, it must be raku day at Casa de Norris. And we had a brief and spectacular firing session and the our outcomes were amazing. Mahalo to our dear friend, Katie Linton, who came and glazed and just hung out to talk story with us over the two firings we did. So much fun and we’ll be doing it again in Oct! And we will see so many of you at tomorrow’s great Empty Bowls Camas Event. If you haven’t got tickets yet, I’d heard they sold out. Again. Congrats to that entire
team.

We are officially a week out from Empty Bowls Camas 2026. I think the last total was somewhere around 800 plus bowls. We love this event, taking two things we are really passionate about; clay and helping the community. Thank you to all the artists, restaurants, organizers(big thanks to that) and our volunteers that are giving their talent and time to this. Empty Bowls Camas Black Pearl on the Columbia Event Center

Missed posting this earlier. Last week, I had the unique privilege of attending the Open House of Kadence Collective Art Lab & Social Club. And I gotta tell ya, it’s all that AND MORE! Nathan & Erin have created a space for folks to craft, create, explore and enjoy and wide array of mediums. Such a cool idea. Their motto is “COME FOR THE VIBE, STAY FOR THE PEOPLE”. Totally all-in on this. It was so great to see Mike McKinney (California Raisin Man) who is doing beautiful mixed agateware sculptures. His high energy level is palpable, every time we meet. So glad I stopped by. And, if you’re ever in the area, you should, too!
