Pewabic Pottery big blue iridescent mottled glaze vase made in Detroit Michigan by Mary Chase Perry (Stratton). It has a flared lip bulbous spherical form and an exceptional glaze. It measures 10 1/8 inches high, 9 7/8 inches in diameter, and weighs around 9 lbs. Marked with the firm’s circular Pewabic Detroit die-stamp under the glaze and a partial paper label. www.jmwgallery.com

Russell Crook studio carved relief tile depicting a Minuteman with a gun and titled Concord Bridge. 6 inches square and 3/4 inches thick, framed in a custom arts & crafts quartered oak frame (10 3/4” square). Unmarked. Russell Crook worked by himself in Lincoln MA. He was an early member of the Society of Arts & Crafts, Boston, studied with Augustus Saint-Gaudens, and John Henry Twachtman and communicated with Charles Binns. He attended the Arts Students League in NY, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Art. Among his other accomplishments, he designed tiles for Grueby and created the fountain in Center Harbor NH. www.jmwgallery.com

Grueby Pottery & Tile Co tiles from the ocean series frieze in matte green, blue, tan, orange, yellow, and white glazes. The albatross, penguins on the ice floe, ducks in the sunrise, seagulls, and the bell buoy in waves. They each measure about 4 inches square and about 1 inch thick. Framed in a custom quartered oak arts and crafts style frame (7 3/8” x 25 1/2”). Marked with a variety of glazers initials, a paper label, and one with a raised star. www.jmwgallery.com

Grueby Pottery gourd form vase with two rows of nine leaves and curled tips under a beautiful curdled and separated matte green glaze. Well tooled with a closed-in rim, this vase was designed by George Prentiss Kendrick. It measures 12 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches in diameter. Marked with the Grueby Pottery Boston USA die-stamp. c. 1905. No visible modelers mark. Every one of these is slightly different and this is a particularly striking example. www.jmwgallery.com
