Dorchester County Historical Society

Dorchester County Historical Society Since 1953, DCHS has endeavored to preserve and curate the history and culture of our great county. The website offers a video tour of the Nelid Museum.

LaGrange Plantation is home to the Dorchester County Historical Society, which seeks to preserve and share the history of Dorchester County, Maryland. To this end, the society operates several museums and an archive. The circa 1760 Georgian Meredith House displays decorative arts pieces and artifacts pertaining to the seven Maryland governors. The Neild Museum presents local agricultural life from

colonial times onward. The Goldsborough Stable presents transportation and trade artifacts. The workshop of Ron Rue, noted hunting decoy maker; a historic food storage structure and smokehouse; our garden follows a historical name each year. among the themes are Native American, First Settlers, and African American will be on the site. The plantation offers exhibits, period rooms, and a historically styled garden. Located on the eastern shore of MD, museum includes exhibits on the Native Americans and the canning and seafood industry, come check us out for more information

2.) Sat, June 27: 11am-3p- Living History Music with “Ampersand” https://ampersandmusic.org
ONLY $5 donation suggested for admission!
All ages welcome!

“Voices on the Shore: Generations” Concert.
Children’s activities during the day and historic cocktails at night!
