It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed Past President and President Emeritus, John S. “Pat” Neild, who departed on August 22, 2025, after a brief illness.

Pat was a visionary leader whose dedication, integrity, and compassion shaped our organization in countless ways. Under Pat’s guidance, South Dorchester Folk Museum has strived to preserve the history of South Dorchester by having speakers and by awarding scholarships to South Dorchester students he made the community aware of the rich history surrounding us. Pat was involved in many organizations making the community a thriving place. He will be deeply missed by colleagues, partners, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
