Recycled cardboard boxes, paper bags, wood, and glue.
Devotion ~ This sculpture of a loving pair of life-sized lions was formed entirely out of cardboard with the exception of a bit of wood at the base for stability. It turns out that cardboard is a lovely medium to work with. The forms are all made from cut boxes and the surface is covered with torn bits of paper bags. This sculpture was created without making paper pulp. It's all just cardboard assembled using hot glue and Elmer's glue, yet it's actually quite sturdy. It was built from the inside out starting with basic skull forms made from cardboard and layering on the musculature and then the fur.
