Christian Waldschmidt Homestead & Civil War Museum The open hours for 2026 are Sundays 1pm to 5pm June 7- through October 25, 2026 Special tours are also available upon request.

The Christian Waldschmidt Homestead Museum is a historic home completed in 1804 built in the Pennsylvania Dutch style. The museum complex also includes other buildings: the Civil War Museum, a spring house, and a visitor center. The area in which the museum complex sits was first founded as the small community of New Germany, before transitioning ultimately into Camp Dennison, which trained and re

ceived wounded soldiers during the Civil War. The site is owned and maintained by the Ohio Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The public is invited to visit every Sunday from the first weekend in May through the last weekend in October from 1pm to 5pm.

Colonial music and dancers, tours of Christian Waldschmidt Homestead/Civil War Museums, men and women in colonial attire, children's games, herb garden and see fiber artists display. Picnic on our beautiful grounds. Public invited with Free Admission. Let's Party like it's 1776.
