Cristiano Toso is a master at abstract, figurative sculpture. He has the ability to imbue molten glass with fundamental humanity. His work evokes feelings that everyone can relate to. Hand blown from Murano glass and imported from Murano Venice, Italy.

Biography – Italian, b. 1971, Murano, Venice, Italy, based in Murano, Venice, Italy

Cristiano Toso began his career at just 14 as an apprentice to the legendary Pino Signoretto. Because he was unable to work with Pino’s “heavy glass” pieces, he lasted just one week. Clearly, Cristiano has truly come full circle as a master of heavy glass works today!

Consequently, Toso continued his formal training at the Seguso Vetri d’Arte. Next, he continued working at Mirco D’Este and finally refined his skills with Berto Mattiello. Cristiano Toso is a master at abstract, figurative sculpture.

Mother and Child by Mariano Moro.

We love this piece, but it found a new home this week.
The "Madonna and Child" form is iconic in Italian art, including glass sculpture. There are still glass artists that create more elaborate sacred sculptures.

However, Mariano has abstracted the form in a truly beautiful way that captures the essence of the precious bond between any mother and her child.

We are sad to see it go, but very happy that it will provide joy for another family.
