Reminder that there is still time to register for Stark-HERT's Risk Assessment and Disaster Planning Workshop, Tuesday, June 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH.

Conducting the workshop will be Tom Clareson, Senior Consultant for Digital & Preservation Services at Lyrasis—a nonprofit membership organization whose mission is to support enduring access to the world’s shared academic, scientific, and cultural heritage resources.

Tom, who is a Northeast Ohio native, has served over 20 years at Lyrasis, consulting and teaching nationally and internationally on preservation, disaster preparedness, digitization, digital preservation, special collections/archives, funding, strategic planning, and advocacy for libraries, archives, and museums.

Attendees will gain the tools and resources needed to assess and mitigate risks, learn how to develop and update disaster preparedness plans, and understand how institutions can collaborate on disaster response efforts regionally. The workshop will include a walk-through of our host site to look at risks you can consider in your own building. If you have a disaster plan—old, new, or in need of updating—feel free to bring it to this workshop.

Please register by this coming Monday, June 8. The registration fee is $50. Attendees have the option of adding on a boxed lunch to their order for $10. Additional lunch options are available at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
