Sonoran Arts League The Sonoran Arts League is a non-profit 501(c)(3), arts service organization dedicated to actively advancing art, artists, and art education.

Led by staff and volunteer-based organization located in Cave Creek and Carefree, Arizona, just north of Phoenix. Sonoran Arts League is a vibrant nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting visual arts, artists, and art education. Founded in 1975 by local artists in Cave Creek, we’ve grown into a creative community of 500+ members serving the Desert Foothills area. Our Gallery in Carefree feature

s rotating juried exhibitions and festive Third Thursday Art Night receptions, while our Studio in Cave Creek offers workshops, classes, and open studios in a wide range of media for adults, youth, and veterans—taught by professional League artists. Looking to take your artwork to the next level? Join internationally recognized artist Timothy Rees for a morning of creativity, inspiration, and personalized instruction at the Sonoran Arts League Studio.

Whether you’re working in acrylic, oil, watercolor, graphite, or charcoal, Timothy’s unique open-format workshop gives you the opportunity to bring your current project or start something entirely new. Receive one-on-one guidance, learn timeless principles of classical realism, enjoy live demonstrations, and connect with fellow artists in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The excitement is building! 🎉 We can’t wait to see the walls of our brand-new Sonoran Arts League Gallery come alive with incredible artwork from our talented Artist Members. The Call for Art has officially closed, and our jury panel is now reviewing submissions.

On June 4, artwork begins arriving at our beautiful new gallery home at 30 Easy Street, Suite A, Carefree, AZ 85377, and on June 5, we proudly open Inspire & Imagine: An Artistic Journey to the public!

✨ How lucky are we to have had jewelry artists Celest Michelotti and Leonor Pisano teaching at the Studio over the weekend! 💎✨

The beautiful jewelry pieces our students created are absolutely fabulous, and it was wonderful seeing creativity, new skills, and inspiration come together in the Studio. There’s nothing better than watching ideas turn into wearable works of art!
