Big Weekend Fundraising Banquet and Open House

We will kick off the weekend with our fundraising banquet on November 1st. Registration will be open until October 24th or until we sell out. Joe Humphreys will be receiving the PFFMA first lifetime achievement award. This will be a special event and we hope everyone will consider joining us. The PA Fly Fishing Museum is happy to announce that we have been working on a few new displays. Everyone is invited to the Pa Fly Fishing Museums Open House on Sunday November 2nd starting at 11:00 am. We will be unveiling our new Pa Bamboo and Wood Rod Makers Display. The display will have thirty-six bamboo and wood rods dating almost as far back as the Civil war, to the present time. This display will also have several rods built by Vincent C. Marinaro from Mechanicsburg, PA.

The PA Fly Fishing Museum would like to thank the following individuals for all of their work in building this beautiful display: Don Albright, Tom Smithwick, Ed Bosley and Bill Skilton

We also will be unveiling our fishing vest display. All of the vests were manufactured in PA, including vests made by the former C.H. Masland Company in Carlisle, PA. The vests range in age from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. Thanks to Ken Okorn for his help with this display.

We will have a short presentation, time to cast a few rods on the grass, and meet some of the rod makers and donors that helped make these displays possible. Light refreshments will be served. We hope you will be able to join us at this free event. No RSVP required.

Very sorry to announce that a wonderful man and friend of the fly fishing world has passed. Donald Holbrook from Shiremanstown, Pa. was a past member of the Pa. Fly Fishing Museum Association Board of Directors. Don passed Wednesday the 23rd. 2025. Don had a unique sense of humor and was an all around good guy. If you ever met him, he probably made you laugh. Don co authored Midge Magic in 2001 with Ed Koch. He spent many years researching, photographing and matching midge insects with his own fly patterns. In 2012 Don's flies were used as the commemorative flies for our annual banquet. Don was a very generous man and will be missed by all.
