Carmel Art Association

Carmel Art Association Representing local artists since 1927. Open 7 Days a Week
10AM – 5PM

Home of the nation's second oldest artist cooperative, this historic Carmel gallery has been a showcase for the works of some of California's greatest artists since 1927. Continuing that proud tradition today, the Carmel Art Association's sales gallery features paintings and sculpture by noted professional local artists, many of whom have received national recognition as well.

Peggy Jelmini presents Between Land and Light, a solo exhibition featuring a series of abstract landscapes inspired by the shifting light, colors, and atmosphere of the Monterey Bay.

Jelmini’s paintings explore emotional elements, capturing the feeling of a landscape rather than its literal form. Subtle changes in tone and movement suggest land, water, and sky without defining them.

Peggy shares, “It’s less about the place itself and more about the feeling of being there, listening, and letting the moment stay with you.”

View Between Land and Light in person from now through March 2nd at CAA!

Art meets science at Carmel Art Association 🎨🐦

Join us for a special artist talk in collaboration with the Monterey Audubon Society, featuring scientific illustrators Emma Nydam, Elise Cypher, and Natalie Chan of California State University, Monterey Bay.

These artists will share a behind-the-scenes look at how field research, observation, and creativity come together in beautifully illustrated birding guides and zines inspired by Monterey County’s diverse habitats.

Also joining the conversation is Shannon Simpson, Executive Director of the Monterey Audubon Society.

We hope you’ll be our guest for this inspiring afternoon at CAA!
