We’re thrilled to welcome back guest artist Jackie MacLeod back to the gallery with four new works that showcase her masterful exploration of copper, brass, and patina. Inspired by travels, nature, and the unexpected beauty of transformation, Jackie’s pieces invite closer looking; and each one comes with a personal letter from the artist tucked behind the work ✉️

For the first time, member and featured artists Peg Bachenheimer and Carol Retsch-Bogart have collaborated on a new body of encaustic and collage works. Their combined practice brings together layered surfaces, rich textures, and an intuitive approach to material that results in deeply dimensional, engaging pieces.
Built through accumulation and response, these works weave paint, wax, and collage elements into dynamic compositions that feel both playful and intentional, inviting close looking and discovery at every turn.

In his first featured show at FRANK, artist Clarke Munford presents “Fleshed Out,” a series of paintings that reimagine archival black-and-white photographs of early agricultural life in North Carolina. Sourced from the State Archives of North Carolina, these historical images become the foundation for fully realized, color-rich interpretations.
Working from tonal and spatial cues within the original photographs, Clarke introduces speculative color to bridge documentation and invention, reflecting on rural life and the evolution of agricultural practices. Welcome Clarke!

Longtime FRANK artist Sasha Bakaric presents a vibrant new collection inspired by the colors of tropical oceans and lush vegetation. After years of exploring the patterns of the microworld through darker palettes, a recent trip to the Caribbean sparked a shift toward luminous blues, greens, and turquoise; a return to the beauty of nature during heavy times.
Working intuitively with white stoneware clay, colored terra sigillatas, slip trailing, sgraffito, and layered glazes, Sasha creates richly textured ceramic pieces that balance spontaneity, surface, and function.
Join us for the Opening Reception TONIGHT, Friday, May 22, from 6–9pm.

Featured (for the first time!) and member artist Elijah Kell creates luminous glass sculptures that capture light, color, and movement while balancing fragility with strength. Crafted piece by piece and layer by layer, his work transforms flat sheets of glass into fluid sculptural forms inspired by gemstones, florals, and the natural elements. Through vivid color, rich texture, and carefully shaped form, Elijah’s work explores the relationship between imagination, process, and presence.
Join us (tomorrow) Friday, May 22, from 6–9 PM for the opening reception and experience Elijah’s radiant glass sculptures in person.
