Sept 5th and 6th dedication program set for WWII internment memorial at UTTC BISMARCK FORT IMPRISONED JAPANESE AMERICANS DURING WORLD WAR TWO. Harry Hayashi, in 1928, built the Rainbow Tourist Park here in Carrington. Harry was the only North Dakota Japanese citizen to be incarcerated here during WWII. It was great to see so many faces from reunions this past weekend. Suppose you want to go further into the local past. In that case, the Foster County Historical Society Museum will be open today from 1:00-4:00. We have a lot of family history here and many artifacts from decades past in our 4 buildings and the Putnam House. We are across the street from the Foster County Fairgrounds on the far west end of Main Street and 2 blocks south.
